The Municipal Integration Centre provides an overview of services relating to integration. People from the city administration, social education and teacher training departments collaborate to provide these services. The Municipal Integration Centre assists with integration at strategic level through networking, technical support, informative events and funding programmes from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Every six months, the Adult Education Centre for the district of Siegen-Wittgenstein offers a wide range of further education courses. Courses are held across the district. Moreover, ‘German as a foreign language/second language’ presents a full range of integration courses and vocational German courses every semester.

IHK Siegen (the Siegen Chamber of Industry and Commerce) represents the local industrial, commercial and service sectors. It upholds the general interests of its trader members while promoting the commercial economy. IHK Siegen also addresses the policy needs of businesses at city and community level as well as state and national level. It advises public authorities on business matters and carries out assigned official duties. IHK Siegen promotes further education and training, assists in the foundation of companies, assists businesses with internationalisation and advises members on legal issues.

The Federal Employment Agency is the main point of contact for career information as well as work and training placements. The Agency also assists citizens with financial services (such as unemployment benefit and child allowance) on a daily basis.

The Studierendenwerk offers two different childcare models on the Adolf-Reichwein-Straße campus: a daycare centre (Kita) and flexible childcare (Flexi), where you can have your child looked after by educational staff on an hourly basis.

Based at KrönchenCenter in the Oberstadt district, VHS Siegen is the city’s Adult Education Center. The Center offers courses and events in the fields of People and Society, Culture and Creativity, Health, Languages, Careers and IT. VHS Siegen events are held at KrönchenCenter and at many other locations around the city.

The Citizens Advice offices in Siegen offer fast advice for individuals from a single source. Here you can register or de-register as a resident of the city and avail of many other general services provided by the city authorities. The four ‘branches’ in your locality offer the same services and the same facilities. At present, appointments are required.
